I cut according to the patterns of the men’s gymnastic bodysuit prepared by me in advance. Patterns for men’s bodysuits can be purchased on the store page here.
I got 6 parts: one part of the front of the bodysuit, two parts of the back of the bodysuit, two sleeves and a stand-up collar.
Body tailoring
First, I stitched a split tuck at the bottom of the bodysuit on an overlock sewing machine.
Then I stitched the cuts of the sleeves.
Then I sewed a hidden zipper. It is correct to use a zipper to match the suit, but I specifically used a contrasting zipper, since this bodysuit is only a sample for this article and the contrasting zipper is better seen in the photo. 😀
How to sew a hidden zipper on a bodysuit, see this article.
Then I sewed the front and back of the body along the side cuts, shoulder cuts and the step cut on the overlock sewing machine.
She rolled up her sleeves. Usually, they first combine the control points on the armhole of the bodysuit and the hem of the sleeve, but I do not use them when sewing bodysuits and swimsuits from supplex. Instead of the reference points, I matched the seam of the sleeve and the side seam of the bodysuit, as well as the shoulder seam with the highest point of the collar on the sleeve. The rest of the cut of the sleeve was evenly distributed along the armhole of the bodysuit.
I stitched the sleeves on an overlock sewing machine.
Then I connected the collar to the neck of the bodysuit along the control points and stitched them on an overlock sewing machine. The stand-up collar is fastened with 2 sewn-on buttons with a diameter of 1.3 cm.
For a detailed description of collar processing, see this article.
Next, I processed the cutouts for the legs with an elastic band 0.7 cm wide. For a detailed description of the processing, see this article.
The bottom of the sleeves was processed in a hem with an open cut. I sewed the cut with a zigzag seam on a sewing machine.
I cut off the extra allowance along the line without reaching the line by 0.1-0.2 cm.
My men’s bodysuit is ready.
Men’s bodysuit is sewn very quickly and can be used not only in gymnastics, but also for dancing. The back of the bodysuit can be cut in one piece, and the fastener can be made with buttons in the crotch.
